abstract = "The present study compares different spatial analysis methodology
to identify vulnerable areas to forest fire occurrences, caused by
antropogenic activities, using a Geographical Information System.
The study area covers a part of Capim river basin, on Paragominas
- PA. Using a topographic map and a Landsat/TM5 image, was
generated four layers (land use, terrain slope, roads and
hidrography). These layers were integrated using Boolean
operators, Fuzzy Gamma classification and Analytical Hierarchy
Process (AHP), to generate a thematic map showing areas vulnerable
to forest fire. Occurrences. When three methodology was compared,
the AHP methodology presented best results.",
