             abstract = "The objective of this study was evaluate the potencial of 
                         hemispherical canopy photography to validate the monitoring of the 
                         quality of forest management by satellite image based in the 
                         canopy damage carried out in dense forest of Paragominas region in 
                         Para and transition forest of Sinop region in Mato Grosso, Brazil. 
                         The results showed that the hemispherical canopy photography 
                         permit to quantify different and significant (Duncan test, 0.05%) 
                         canopy damage in various selective logging landscape (logging 
                         landing, tree falls, secundary roads and skid trails). 
                         Additionally, this method permits to evaluate if the selective 
                         logging was conducted with management (planned) or conventional 
                         (unplanned) practices. The canopy damage in all selective logging 
                         landscape was higher in conventional logging than in management 
                         logging. This tool beyond the validate the monitoring of the 
                         quality of forest management by satellite image, should be used to 
                         inspection and control the forest management quality in the field 
                         by environmental agencies.",
