             abstract = "The Earth's surface results from the association and activity of 
                         endogenous and exogenous processes. Watersheds integrate surfaces 
                         bounded by topographic dividers consisting of channels and 
                         tributaries, which drain rainfall, sediment, and dissolved 
                         substances to a main channel, and whose flow converges into a 
                         single output surfaces. The geomorfometric analysis of watersheds 
                         is crucial for diagnosis and territorial planning. This study 
                         utilizes data from Topodata project, with the main objective of 
                         performing the geomorphometric characterization of the watershed 
                         of Rio Doce/RN. The data were modeled, imported, processed and 
                         stored using the database management system of geographic data 
                         SQlite coupled with SPRING open source software. The maximum 
                         amplitude for the topographic basin area of 132.50 m is considered 
                         relatively high, and the relief relationship was determined in 
                         6.75%, indicating low slope. The roughness index is 1.78 m, 
                         indicating a slightly dissected relief and that the basin has a 
                         low risk of erosion by hydric processes. The average slope of 
                         4.45% shows low susceptibility to erosion. The Rio Doce watershed 
                         may be considered, therefore, from the point of view of relief, as 
                         a basin of low environmental vulnerability to erosion throughout 
                         its extension, evidently disregarding anthropogenic factors 
                         resulting from broad and extensive human occupation in the 
                         basin.",
