abstract = "The relation between geomagnetic storms that occurred from March 7
to 12, 2008 and the Ionospheric Cosmic Noise Absorption (ICNA) is
presented. Data acquired by the Imaging Riometer for Ionospheric
Studies (IRIS) and with a fluxgate Magnetometer, installed at the
South Space Observatory (SSO/CRS/CCR/INPE - MCT, 29.4º S, 53.8º W,
480 m a.s.l.), S{\~a}o Martinho da Serra, RS, Brazil, under the
South American Magnetic Anomaly (SAMA) was analyzed to study this
moderate geomagnetic storm. The analysis was based on the
geomagnetic indexes, like Dst and Kp, and with the variation of
magnetic field components for the three phases of the storm: the
storm sudden commencement, mean phase and recovery phase is
presented. The analysis shows that during this geomagnetic storm
the ICNA presents an increase positive variation.",
