                         regi{\~a}o Sul do Estado de Minas Gerais. Foram utilizadas as 
                         vari{\'a}veis clim{\'a}ticas referentes ao per{\'{\i}}odo seco 
                         (junho, julho e agosto) do ano de 2014, pertencentes {\`a} rede 
                         de monitoramento do Instituto Nacional de Meteorologias (INMET) 
                         instaladas nos munic{\'{\i}}pios citados. A 
                         compara{\c{c}}{\~a}o dos valores de ETo estimados por meio dos 
                         m{\'e}todos emp{\'{\i}}ricos com o do m{\'e}todo padr{\~a}o 
                         Penman-Monteith (FAO56) na escala di{\'a}ria, foram realizados 
                         considerando os par{\^a}metros estat{\'{\i}}sticos da 
                         equa{\c{c}}{\~a}o de regress{\~a}o, coeficiente de 
                         determina{\c{c}}{\~a}o (rē), coeficiente de 
                         correla{\c{c}}{\~a}o (r), {\'{\i}}ndice de concord{\^a}ncia 
                         (d) e {\'{\i}}ndice de confian{\c{c}}a ou desempenho (c), para 
                         os meses estudados nas tr{\^e}s localidades. Os resultados 
                         indicam que para as condi{\c{c}}{\~o}es clim{\'a}ticas 
                         estudadas, os melhores m{\'e}todos, em escala di{\'a}ria, para 
                         os munic{\'{\i}}pios de Lavras e S{\~a}o Louren{\c{c}}o foram 
                         FAO24 Penman, FAO24 Blaney-Criddle, Priestley-Taylor, FAO24 
                         Radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o e Makkink (Mk). Por sua vez, para o 
                         munic{\'{\i}}pio de Machado os melhores modelos foram 
                         Priestley-Taylor, FAO24 Penman, Makkink, Blaney-Criddle e FAO24 
                         Radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o. ABSTRACT: It was aimed with this work to 
                         perform a comparative study of the empirical equations for 
                         estimating the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) with the 
                         standard Penman-Monteith FAO 56 method for the climatic conditions 
                         of Lavras, S{\~a}o Louren{\c{c}}o and Machado counties, located 
                         in the southern region of Minas Gerais state. Climatic variables 
                         of the dry season (June, July and August) of 2014, which belongs 
                         to the monitoring network of the National Institute of Meteorology 
                         (INMET) installed in the mentioned counties, were used. Comparison 
                         among the values of ETos estimated by the empirical methods and 
                         the standard Penman-Monteith (FAO56) method, in daily scale, were 
                         performed considering the statistical parameters of the regression 
                         equation, coefficient of determination (rē), coefficient of 
                         correlation (r), concordance index (d) and reliability index or 
                         performance (c), for the months studied in the counties. The 
                         results indicates that for the climatic conditions studied, the 
                         best methods, in daily scale, for the counties of Lavras and 
                         S{\~a}o Louren{\c{c}}o were the FAO24 Penman, FAO24 
                         Blaney-Criddle, Priestley-Taylor, FAO24 Radiation and Makkink 
                         (Mk). On the other hand, for the Machado county the best methods 
                         were Priestley-Taylor, FAO24 Penman, Makkink, Blaney-Criddle and 
                         FAO24 Radiation, respectively.",
