                         por boa parte das incertezas relacionadas em trabalhos 
                         ionosf{\'e}ricos pois apresentam significativas mudan{\c{c}}as 
                         de dia a dia, n{\~a}o s{\~a}o previstos com facilidade e 
                         tampouco t{\^e}m boa distribui{\c{c}}{\~a}o espacial e temporal 
                         de medidas. Al{\'e}m disso, os modelos de ventos neutros atuais 
                         dispon{\'{\i}}veis, frequentemente, falham em reproduzir as 
                         condi{\c{c}}{\~o}es reais da ionosfera, em especial para a 
                         regi{\~a}o brasileira. Neste trabalho, o comportamento dos ventos 
                         neutros termosf{\'e}ricos {\'e} modelado sobre o territ{\'o}rio 
                         brasileiro, a partir de dados obtidos durante a campanha COPEX. Os 
                         par{\^a}metros utilizados s{\~a}o as derivas verticais de 
                         plasma, a altura da camada F2 e a densidade de plasma obtidos por 
                         meio de observa{\c{c}}{\~o}es sincronizadas de tr{\^e}s 
                         ionossondas digitais instaladas nas localidades de Boa Vista 
                         (2,8\$^{o}\$ N, 60,7\$^{o}\$ O), Cachimbo (9,8\$^{o}\$ S e 
                         54,8\$^{o}\$ O) e Campo Grande (20,5\$^{o}\$ S, 54,7\$^{o}\$ 
                         O). O modelo obtido permite examinar os efeitos dos ventos neutros 
                         na ionosfera em ambos hemisf{\'e}rios quando s{\~a}o comparadas 
                         as derivais verticais de plasma obtidas com aquelas observadas nos 
                         pontos conjugados magneticamente, nominalmente, Boa Vista e Campo 
                         Grande. As observa{\c{c}}{\~o}es t{\^e}m mostrado que existe 
                         assimetria na deriva vertical de plasma entre estas localidades e 
                         o modelo busca simular estas assimetrias. O modelo de vento neutro 
                         deste trabalho {\'e} obtido por solu{\c{c}}{\~a}o num{\'e}rica 
                         das equa{\c{c}}{\~o}es diferenciais para as componentes zonal e 
                         meridional dos ventos termosf{\'e}ricos. Os resultados 
                         num{\'e}ricos dos ventos s{\~a}o comparados com sa{\'{\i}}das 
                         do modelo semi-emp{\'{\i}}rico global de ventos horizontais, o 
                         HWM, e a partir deles s{\~a}o calculadas novas derivas de plasma 
                         via solu{\c{c}}{\~a}o da equa{\c{c}}{\~a}o de movimento dos 
                         {\'{\i}}ons em estado estacion{\'a}rio. Estas derivas 
                         resultantes s{\~a}o usadas para avaliar a din{\^a}mica do plasma 
                         sobre as esta{\c{c}}{\~o}es ionosf{\'e}ricas utilizadas. O 
                         presente estudo demonstra a grande import{\^a}ncia dos ventos 
                         neutros na compreens{\~a}o do comportamento da deriva vertical de 
                         plasma durante per{\'{\i}}odos geomagneticamente calmos. 
                         Al{\'e}m disso, o modelo poder{\'a} ajudar a preencher a lacuna 
                         em termos do conhecimento que existe a respeito do comportamento 
                         dos ventos neutros sobre a regi{\~a}o brasileira. ABSTRACT: The 
                         termospheric neutral winds are responsible for much of the 
                         uncertainties related in ionospheric works because they present 
                         significant changes from day to day, they are not easily predicted 
                         nor have good spatial and temporal measures distribution. In 
                         addition, current neutral wind models available often fail to 
                         reproduce the actual conditions of the ionosphere, in particular 
                         for the Brazilian region. In this work, the behavior of 
                         thermospheric neutral winds is modeled on the Brazilian territory 
                         from data obtained during COPEX campaign. The parameters used are 
                         the vertical plasma drift, the height of the F2 layer and the 
                         plasma density obtained by observations from three synchronized 
                         digital ionosonde installed on Boa Vista (2.8\$^{o}\$ N, 
                         60.7\$^{o}\$ W), Cachimbo (9.8\$^{o}\$ S and 54.8\$^{o}\$ W) 
                         and Campo Grande (20.5\$^{o}\$ S, 54.7\$^{o}\$ W). The model 
                         obtained allows to examine the effects of neutral winds in the 
                         ionosphere in both hemispheres when vertical plasma drifts 
                         obtained are compared with those observed in the magnetically 
                         conjugate points, namely, Boa Vista and Campo Grande. The 
                         observations have shown that there is asymmetry in the plasma 
                         vertical drift between the locations and the model tries to 
                         simulate these asymmetries. The neutral wind model of this work is 
                         obtained by numerical solution of differential equations for the 
                         zonal and meridional components of thermospheric winds. The 
                         numerical results of the winds are compared with outputs of the 
                         semi-empirical Horizontal Wind Model, the HWM, and from them are 
                         calculated new plasma drifts through the solution of ion motion 
                         equation in steady state. These resulting drifts are used to 
                         assess the dynamics of the plasma of the ionospheric stations 
                         used. This study demonstrates the importance of the neutral winds 
                         in understanding the behavior of the plasma vertical drift during 
                         quiet geomagnetic conditions. In addition, the model can help fill 
                         the gap in knowledge that exists regarding the behavior of the 
                         neutral winds on the Brazilian region.",
