             abstract = "La astrof{\'{\i}}sica permite entender aplicaciones concretas de 
                         la leyes f{\'{\i}}sicas y constituye una herramienta 
                         did{\'a}ctica para la enseñanza de la f{\'{\i}}sica. 
                         Espec{\'{\i}}ficamente conceptos de la f{\'{\i}}sica 
                         electromagn{\'e}tica como la polarizaci{\'o}n de la luz que 
                         permite estudiar diferentes objetos astrof{\'{\i}}sicos como: 
                         estrellas, planetas y galaxias. Este trabajo presenta una 
                         revisi{\'o}n hist{\'o}rica del fen{\'o}meno de 
                         polarizaci{\'o}n, conceptos f{\'{\i}}sicos b{\'a}sicos, 
                         descritos desde las ecuaciones de Maxwell; ser{\'a}n presentados 
                         conceptos como los estados de polarizaci{\'o}n, los 
                         par{\'a}metros de Stokes y los procesos de polarizaci{\'o}n. 
                         Adem{\'a}s algunas aplicaciones en la f{\'{\i}}sica solar, 
                         sistemas planetarios, materia interestelar, Masers 
                         astron{\'o}micos, p{\'u}lsares y n{\'u}cleos activos de 
                         galaxias (AGNs). ABSTRACT: The astrophysics allows to understand 
                         applications about physical laws and it constitutes a powerful, 
                         didactic tool for the teaching. Concepts of the electromagnetism, 
                         such as the polarization of the light let us study different 
                         astronomical objects, such as stars, planets and galaxies. This 
                         work shows an historical revision about the polarization, physical 
                         concepts described by Maxwells equation. Also, some concepts as 
                         polarization states, Stokes parameters and polarization processes 
                         will be presented. As well applications in solar physics, 
                         planetary systems, interstellar matter, Astronomical Massers, 
                         pulsars and Active Galactic Nuclei will be described in this 
                         article.",
