             abstract = "In the present study we correlate the methods for constructing Ksa 
                         and Kp magnetic indexes, analyzing their elaboration algorithms. 
                         Kp is a global index constructed through the X and Y components of 
                         the Earth's magnetic field. It is drawn by averaging the K indexes 
                         obtained by magnetometers installed around the globe. Already the 
                         Ksa index is constructed through of the H component of the 
                         magnetic field obtained by magnetometers installed over South 
                         America, only. He is elaborate through average of the K index the 
                         of magnetics stations of the Embrace Magnetometer Network (EMBRACE 
                         MagNet). This index was developed in the EMBRACE - INPE program in 
                         order to include the physical peculiarities that occur mainly in 
                         the Brazilian region. Therefore, we compared the Kp methodology 
                         which is provided by the Finnish Meteorological Institute (IMF) 
                         and the Ksa method based on the magnetometers data divided in 
                         quiet and disturbed periods. The results show a good correlation 
                         between these two different methods and identifying that the 
                         discrepancies are due to the physical peculiarities of the 
                         place.",
