AbstractEmission factors for CO2, CO and main hydrocarbon gases, as well as biomass consumption in an Amazonian forest clearing fire are presented and discussed. The experiment was conducted in the Western Amazon region, near the city of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre state, Brazil. The average carbon content of dry biomass was 48% and the estimated average moisture content of fresh biomass was 42% on wet weight basis. The fresh biomass on the ground before burning was estimated as 583 ton ha-1 for larger parts of biomass with characteristic diameters larger than 10 cm. The small parts with characteristic diameters lower than 10 cm were quantified before burning on the ground and represented a value of 105 ton ha-1 with 17.1% humidity. The carbon content on the ground before burning was estimated to be 191 ton ha-1. The overall biomass consumption for the experiment was calculated as 22.5% and 89.2% for larger and small parts of biomass, respectively. Excess mixing ratios were measured for CO2, CO, CH4, C2C3 aliphatic hydrocarbons, and PM2.5. Excess mixing ratios of CH4 and C2C3 hydrocarbons were linearly correlated with those of CO. The average emission factors of CO2, CO, CH4, NMHC, and PM2.5 for 3 sampling hours were 1,513, 157.3, 8.17, 3.89, and 1.86 g kg-1 of burned dry biomass, respectively. Thus one hectare of burned forest released about 232,115 kg of CO2, 24.141 kg of CO, 1.254 kg of CH4, 596 kg of NMHC and 285 kg of PM2.5.

AbstractA conversão pelo uso do fogo de florestas primárias em pastagens e lavouras cultivadas na Amazônia altera a dinâmica microbiana em solos. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar as alterações na atividade de desidrogenases em solos causadas pela queima de biomassa em floresta nativa. O trabalho foi realizado em uma área rural no município de Cruzeiro do Sul Acre em um Argissolo Amarelo. As coletas de solos foram realizadas antes da queima (testemunha), após 16 horas, 30 dias, 60 dias e aos 90 dias após queima da biomassa em três repetições. Foram retiradas amostras indeformadas de solos em 4 horizontes correspondentes a 0-5, 5-10, 10-15 e 15-20 cm. A atividade de Desidrogenases foram determinadas segundo metodologia que baseia-se na estimação da taxa de redução do TTC (Tetrazolium) ao TPF (TrifenilFormazam) incubado na ausência de luz, por um período de 24 horas à temperatura constante de 30 °C. As analises estatísticas foram realizadas pelo Sistema de Análise de Variância da Universidade Federal de Lavras SISVAR, e as médias comparadas entre si pelo teste Tukey a 5% de probabilidade. A camada de 0 5cm de profundidade apresentou elevação de atividade de desidrogenases após 30 dias da queima de biomassa, sendo que, aos 60 dias após a queima foi constatada as maiores atividades enzimáticas até a profundidade de 10 15cm. Os horizontes superficiais de 0-5 e 5-10 foram os mais alterados após a queima de biomassa, sendo que, após 16 horas da queima foi constatada a menor atividade enzimática.

AbstractLos inyectores de tipo Y son clasificados como inyectores de mistura interna y son muy utilizados en la industria. Las metodologías de cálculo están basadas en condiciones de flujo sónico al ingresar a la cámara de mistura. En este trabajo, se presenta una metodología para el cálculo para estos inyectores en condiciones de régimen subsónico, donde la geometría del inyector, las condiciones de presión y temperatura; las propiedades y gastos másicos de líquido combustible y gas de atomización son conocidos condiciones de operación). Bajo estas condiciones, un análisis de la Ecuación de Wigg, que permite determinar el diámetro medio de las gotas, muestra que el régimen crítico solo permite obtener el menor diámetro medio de las gotas del spray. Para cualquier otra condición, el gas de atomización fluye bajo un régimen subsónico y el diámetro medio de gota será mayor que el valor mínimo. También se efectúa una comparación entre las ecuaciones que definen el diámetro medio de gotas, observándose que las diferentes variantes de la ecuación de Wigg propuestas en diferentes trabajos llevan a obtener resultados diferentes, debido a una interpretación equivocada de la esencia física de la ecuación.
