This work aims to investigate how the topic of solar physics can be used in teaching activities. The study of solar phenomena can establish some fruitful relationships with topics that are usually covered in high school, such as spectroscopy and magnetism. In many ways, the Sun can be considered a kind of natural laboratory to study different concepts in a simple way and contemplate applications of physics in situations that are present in our daily lives, making the learning process more meaningful. In this context, academic works were selected with the Sun as a thematic axis and that were studied to systematize their main ideas and thus point out methodologies and scientific topics for teaching the physics of the Sun.
