| Abstract | Abstract A brief review on the behavior of the neutral atmosphere when acted on by solar radiation and the consequent formation of the ionosphere is made. A mathematical model is chosen to be representative of the ionospheric electron density profile. Using data on the total absorption suffered by radio waves which traverse the ionosphere, the electron temperature is calculated. The results thus obtained are applied to the assumed distribution and important ionospheric parameters are determined. Resumo Uma breve revisão sobre o comportamento da atmosfera neutra quando actuado por radiação solar e a consequente formação da ionosfera é feita. Um modelo matemático é escolhido para ser representativo do perfil de densidade de electrões ionosférico. Usando dados sobre a total absorção sofrida por ondas de rádio que atravessam a ionosfera, a temperatura eletrônica é calculado. Os resultados assim obtidos são aplicados para a distribuição assumida e parâmetros importantes são determinados ionosféricas. | |||
