| Abstract | Neste trabalho, apresenta-se e discute-se os resultados obtidos a partir da integração de dados ópticos e de microondas, avaliando-se o grau de sinergismo entre os mesmo na detecção e mapeamento de mudanças de uso e cobertura vegetal atual do solo, na área a nordeste da Ilha do Maranhão. Foram utilizadas imagens TM do satélite Landsat-5 de junho de 1984 e junho de 1999, e dados SAR do ERS-1, de junho de 1995. Os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados consistiram de: (1) redução do ruído speckle dos dados SAR, nos quais foram aplicados diversos filtros com diferentes janelas permitindo uma melhor interpretabilidade desse dado, (2) aplicação da técnica de transformação do espaço IHS e (3) classificação supervisionada usando-se o algoritmo MaxVer, onde a acurácia do conjunto de informações geradas foi avaliada com base nos resultados obtidos a partir da matriz de erros, através da análise estatística Kappa. Os resultados foram comparados com mapas de uso obtidos a partir das imagens orbitais utilizadas durante o processo de classificação, bem como de dados de campo. A integração dos dados possibilitou distinguir diferentes características específicas de uso do solo através de imagens em composição colorida, mostrando o sinergismo entre as informações multiespectrais e texturais. ABSTRACT: In this study we present and discuss the results obtained from integration of optical and microwave data, evaluating the degree of synergism between these data sets, for the detection and mapping of changes of land use/ land cover, at the northeastern section of Maranhão Island. We used images of satellite TM Landsat-5 from June 1984 and July 1999, and ERS-1 SAR data from June 1995. The methodological procedures used were: (1) reduction of speckle noise from radar data, with the application of several filters with different window sizes, thus allowing the improvement of interpretation; (2) application of the technique IHS space transformation and (3) supervised classification, using the MaxVer classification algorithm. Finally the accuracy of the information set obtained was evaluated, based on the results obtained from the error matrix, using Kappa statistics. The results were compared with land use maps obtained from satellite images used during the classification process, as well as with field data. Data integration allowed to distinguish different specific characteristics of land use through color composite images, showing the synergism between multispectral and textural images. | |||
