| Abstract | Atmospheric X and gamma rays are products of complex electromagnetic interactions between charged particles and atmospheric constituents. The latitudinal dependence of the cosmic ray secondaries, auroral and South Atlantic Anomaly phenomena produce flux variations, especially the later temporal flux variations. We propose to discuss these variations in relevance to balloon flight observations of X and gamma ray atmospheric background at polar latitudes. |
