S{\~a}o Paulo (Brasil), Kansas e Rapid City (Estados Unidos) onde
foram instaladas c{\^a}meras de alta velocidade e sensores de

tabelados com as seguintes informa{\c{c}}{\~o}es: o tipo de
c{\^a}mera usada, data e hora do evento (com o aux{\'{\i}}lio
da antena de GPS instalado {\`a} c{\^a}mera), tipo de raio
(intranuvem, descendente ou ascendente), polaridade (positivo ou
negativo) e o tempo de sua ocorr{\^e}ncia (com o aux{\'{\i}}lio

v{\'{\i}}deos desses mesmos raios a fim de observar a

ways: those who contact the ground (downward and upward); and
those that do not touch the ground (intracloud). They can still be
positive or negative, depending on the polarity of the charge
being transferred to the ground. The lightning analyzed in this
work were downward positive flashes. This type of discharge
composes approximately 10% of the downward lightning and they
normally occur at the end of storms due to the distribution of
charges within the cloud. In addition to having a very high
current with a long duration, they are responsible of several
damages to structures and even fires. This work presents the
classification of lightnings from 2012 to 2018 form the cities of
S{\~a}o Paulo (Brazil), Kansas and Rapid City (United States)
where high-speed cameras and electric field sensors were installed
near the site of the electric discharges. The data relating to the
positive Cloud to Ground lightnings were put on a chart containing
the following information: the type of camera used, date and time
of the event (acquired through a GPS antenna), type of lightning
(intracloud, downward and upward), polarity (positive or negative)
and the time of its occurrence (also acquired through a GPS
antenna). Then, the dada in the chart were analyzed with the
objective of finding the presence of Recoil Leaders that connected
to the main channel of the lightning along its development to the
ground. The analysis of this phenomenon is necessary for the
understanding the behavior of positive downward lightning as they
approach the ground, which can later be used in the improvement of
lightning protection systems.",
