abstract = "In this work, the attitude determination and the gyros drift
estimation using the Regularized Particle Filter (RPF) with
Roughening for nonlinear systems will be described. The
application uses the real measurement data for orbit and attitude
of the CBERS-2 (China Brazil Earth Resources Satellite) that are
compared with the simulated measurements, with low and high
sampling rate, emulating the real conditions of CBERS-2
satellite.The results show that one can reach accuracies in
attitude determination within the prescribed requirements using
the Regularized Particle Filter, although at extra computational
cost when compared to conventional nonlinear filter approaches
like Extende Kalman Filter.",
