abstract = "O trabalho teve o objetivo de caracterizar os padr{\~o}es
relacionados aos per{\'{\i}}odos ativos e inativos da brisa, em
termos de vento e nebulosidade, para as regi{\~o}es de Bel{\'e}m
- PA e do Centro de Lan{\c{c}}amento de Alc{\^a}ntara (CLA;
Alc{\^a}ntara - MA) no trimestre SON (per{\'{\i}}odo menos
chuvoso ou seco das regi{\~o}es). Foram abordados o ciclo
di{\'a}rio m{\'e}dio da dire{\c{c}}{\~a}o e da velocidade do
vento utilizando dados observados em Bel{\'e}m e no CLA, a
evolu{\c{c}}{\~a}o diurna do campo de nebulosidade (frente de
brisa) utilizando dados do sat{\'e}lite GOES no canal
vis{\'{\i}}vel, os padr{\~o}es de circula{\c{c}}{\~a}o
atmosf{\'e}rica em escala maior utilizando dados da
rean{\'a}lise do ERA-Interim e a circula{\c{c}}{\~a}o local
utilizando os resultados de downscaling din{\^a}mico com o modelo
WRF. O ciclo di{\'a}rio do vento observado indicou a
atua{\c{c}}{\~a}o local da brisa de ba{\'{\i}}a em Bel{\'e}m
(a partir da ba{\'{\i}}a do Maraj{\'o} durante a tarde, e
influenciando tamb{\'e}m a temperatura do ar e a umidade local) e
no CLA (a partir da ba{\'{\i}}a de S{\~a}o Marcos durante a
manh{\~a}), e da brisa costeira (mar{\'{\i}}tima durante o dia
e terrestre durante a noite) em ambas as regi{\~o}es. Os dados da
rean{\'a}lise representaram em geral a brisa costeira, e
mostraram que ela envolve uma escala maior e est{\'a} associada
ao posicionamento dos centros de diverg{\^e}ncia e
converg{\^e}ncia localizados no oceano e/ou no continente. O
downscaling din{\^a}mico com o modelo WRF representou bem o
padr{\~a}o da brisa de ba{\'{\i}}a. A nebulosidade associada
{\`a} brisa de ba{\'{\i}}a ficou bem caracterizada nas duas
regi{\~o}es, por{\'e}m, em Bel{\'e}m, ocorre uma nebulosidade
persistente, que n{\~a}o se caracteriza como uma frente de brisa.
O padr{\~a}o de brisa costeira tamb{\'e}m foi notado
observacionalmente para ambas as regi{\~o}es, a mar{\'{\i}}tima
ocorrendo no per{\'{\i}}odo da manh{\~a} e a terrestre durante
a noite. ABSTRACT: The objective of this work was to characterize
the patterns related to active and inactive periods of breeze, in
terms of wind and cloudiness, for Bel{\'e}m - PA and the
Alc{\^a}ntara Launch Center (CLA; Alc{\^a}ntara - MA) in the SON
quarter (less rainy or dry periods of the regions). The average
daily cycle of the wind direction and speed were obtained using
the observed data from Bel{\'e}m and CLA; the daytime evolution
of cloudiness (breeze front) from the GOES satellite data in the
visible channel; the atmospheric large scale circulation patterns
from the ERA-Interim reanalysis; and the local circulation, from
the dynamic downscaling results with the WRF model. The observed
daily cycle of the wind indicated the occurrence of bay breeze in
Bel{\'e}m (from the Maraj{\'o} bay during the afternoon, and
also affecting the air temperature and humidity) and CLA (from
S{\~a}o Marcos bay during the morning), and coastal breeze (sea
breeze during day and land breeze at night) in both regions. The
reanalysis data generally represented the coastal breeze, and
showed that it is related to larger scales and results from the
positioning of centers of divergence and convergence over the
ocean and/or the continent. Dynamic downscaling with the WRF model
did represent the bay breeze pattern. The cloudiness associated
with bay breeze was well characterized in the two regions, but
over Bel{\'e}m there is a persistent cloudiness, which is not
characterized as breeze front. The coastal breeze pattern was also
found observationally in both regions, the sea breeze occurring in
the morning and the land breeze at night.",
