             abstract = "Abstract - The results of a computational investigation of the 
                         flow upstream of a sharp leading edge aligned with a rearefied 
                         hypersonic flow are presented. The simulations were performed by 
                         using the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. 
                         Distributions of the primary properties ahead of the sharp leading 
                         edge for five different underwedge-surface angles are compared in 
                         order to assess the relative importance of the underwedge-surface 
                         angle to the upstream disturbance. The impact of the 
                         underwedge-surface angle on the aerodynamci suraface quantities is 
                         also investigated. Interesting features observed in the surface 
                         fluxes showed that small underwedge-surface angle has important 
                         effects on high Mach number leading edge flows.",
