             abstract = "Neste estudo determinu-se o in{\'{\i}}cio e o fim das 
                         esta{\c{c}}{\~o}es quente (E\$_q\$), fria (E\$_f\$) e 
                         chuvosa (E\$_c\$) no Estado de S{\~a}o Paulo. As datas de 
                         in{\'{\i}}cio das E\$_q \$ e E\$_f\$ e, 
                         transi{\c{c}}{\~o}es da esta{\c{c}}{\~a}o quente para a fria 
                         (E\$_q-f\$) e da esta{\c{c}}{\~a}o fria para a 
                         quente(E\$_f-q\$) foram identificadas atrav{\'e}s dos dados de 
                         temperatura do ar de 14 esta{\c{c}}{\~o}es meteorol{\'o}gicas 
                         do INMET, no per{\'{\i}}odo de 20 anos (1989 a 2008). As 
                         E\$_q\$, E\$_q-f\$, E\$_f\$ e E\$_f-q\$ tiveram suas datas 
                         de in{\'{\i}}cio determinadas por meio do crit{\'e}rio da 
                         temperatura, baseada nas temperaturas m{\'e}dias di{\'a}rias das 
                         E\$_q\$ e E\$_f \$ e,depois, seus in{\'{\i}}cios foram 
                         ajustados mediante a passagem de sistemas frontais. O 
                         in{\'{\i}}cio m{\'e}dio da E\$_q-f \$ ocorreu na p{\^e}ntada 
                         17 e o da E\$_f \$ na p{\^e}ntada 27,nos quais ocorreram 
                         passagens de Sistema de Frontal (SF) no litoral do Estado. O 
                         in{\'{\i}}cio das E\$_f-q\$ e E\$_q\$ aconteceu, em 
                         m{\'e}dia, nas p{\^e}ntadas 47 e 71, respectivamente, e estas 
                         foram marcadas por per{\'{\i}}odos com aus{\^e}ncia de passagem 
                         de SF, em m{\'e}dia de 15 dias na E\$_f-q\$ e de 13 dias na 
                         E\$_q\$. Ap{\'o}s a determina{\c{c}}{\~a}o das datas do 
                         in{\'{\i}}cio e fim das E\$_q\$ e E\$_f\$ foram determinados 
                         os eventos de invernicos e veranicos. Os casos de invernicos foram 
                         mais frequentes no m{\^e}s de mar{\c{c}}o e os de veranicos no 
                         m{\^e}s de julho. Neste trabalho tamb{\'e}m foi realizada, em 
                         uma segunda etapa, uma investiga{\c{c}}{\~a}o para determinar as 
                         datas de in{\'{\i}}cio da E\$_c\$ e da esta{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         seca (E\$_s\$) no Estado de S{\~a}o Paulo, atrav{\'e}s do 
                         crit{\'e}rio da precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o, utilizando dados de 
                         precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o pluvial do INMET e DAEE. As E\$_c\$ e 
                         E\$_s\$ foram determinadas para cada ano atrav{\'e}s do 
                         crit{\'e}rio da precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o pluvial. Nesse sentido, 
                         a m{\'e}dia dessas datas para as esta{\c{c}}{\~o}es ocorreu nas 
                         p{\^e}ntadas 66 (INMET) e 63 (DAEE), na E\$_c\$, e na 
                         p{\^e}ntada 19, na E\$_s\$ em ambas as fontes de dados. O 
                         in{\'{\i}}cio das E\$_c\$ tamb{\'e}m foi determinado para 
                         cada ano pela m{\'e}dia das p{\^e}ntadas climatol{\'o}gicas, 
                         sendo constatada uma diferen{\c{c}}a de 4 p{\^e}ntadas entre 
                         elas devido {\`a} suaviza{\c{c}}{\~a}o na m{\'e}dia dos dados 
                         de precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o climatol{\'o}gicos. ABSTRACT: In this 
                         study the onset and the end of the warm (E\$_q\$) and cold 
                         (E\$_f\$) seasons and the delimitation of the rainy season in 
                         S{\~a}o Paulo State were determined. The dates of the beginning 
                         of E\$_q\$ and E\$_f\$ and the transitions from the warm to 
                         the cold season (E\$_q-f\$) and the transitions from the cold to 
                         the warm season (E\$_f-q\$) were determined using air 
                         temperature data from 14 meteorological stations of INMET for a 
                         period of 20 years (1989-2008). The dates of the beginning of 
                         E\$_q\$, E\$_f\$, E\$_q-f\$, E\$_f\$ and E\$_f-q\$ were 
                         obtained using a temperature criterion and observations of cold 
                         front passage. The results showed that the beginning of 
                         E\$_q-f\$ and E\$_f\$ occurred in the pentads17 and 27, 
                         respectively, where there were cold front passages in the litoral 
                         of S{\~a}o Paulo State. The beginning of E\$_f-q\$ and 
                         E\$_q\$ occurred, in the average, in the pentads 47 and 71, 
                         respectively. In these periods there was absence of cold front 
                         passage (in the average 15 days and 13 days for E\$_f-q\$ and 
                         E\$_q\$, respectively). After the delimitation of the dates of 
                         the onset and the end of E\$_q\$ and E\$_f\$ the events of 
                         little winter and summer were determined. The little winter cases 
                         occurred more frequently during March while the little summer 
                         events were more frequent during July. In a second step, in this 
                         study an investigation of the dates of the beginning of the rainy 
                         (E\$_c\$) and dry (E\$_s\$) seasons in S{\~a}o Paulo State 
                         based on a precipitation criterion was made. For this purpose, 
                         rainfall data from INMET and DAEE were used. E\$_c\$ and 
                         E\$_s\$ were determined for each year using a precipitation 
                         criterion. In the average E\$_c\$ occurred in the pentads 66 
                         (INMET) and 63 (DAEE) while E\$_s\$ occurred in the pentad 19 in 
                         both the data sources. The beginning of E\$_c\$ was also 
                         determined for each year and by the average of the climatological 
                         pentads. A difference of 4 pentads between the two cases was 
                         obtained due to the smoothing of the climatological precipitation 
                         data.",
