abstract = "The relationship between vegetation and mass wasting is already
known in many cases. However, different types of vegetation may
lead to different behavior of the slopes, conditioning the lost of
stability and generating mass movement. Remote sensing is one of
the most important proceedings to find this kind of relationships
because it allows the spacialization of the physiographic
characteristics in association to the metropolitan expansion of
Belo Horizonte. The similarities and the differences in mass
wasting processes that occur in forest and savanna vegetations are
the objectives of this paper.",
