abstract = "The approach proposed in this paper is to use GIS to import and to
manipulate shape file themes to classify areas of the watershed of
S{\~a}o Francisco river, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, in suitability
classes for irrigated cropping of arabic coffee. The use of GIS
allowed classifying areas with different aptitudes for that
cropping in that watershed. The generated thematic maps in this
classification will be able to be used to assist in planning and
implantation programs of that culture in the studied area.",
