             abstract = "The objective of this work was to delimit, in an automatic way, 
                         the areas of permanent preservation (APP) and to identify the 
                         occurrence of landuse conflict, based on the forest code and 
                         Resolu{\c{c}}{\~a}o nº 303 do CONAMA. The work was developed in 
                         the river Alegre watershed, situated in the south region of the 
                         State of Espirito Santo, Brazil. Utilizing the resources available 
                         in the GIS software, it was possible to delimit the APPs situated 
                         in the upper third of hills (49,7 ha); hillsides with slopes above 
                         45 degrees (27,5 ha); springs and their respective contributing 
                         areas (1975,6 ha); riparian zones with width less than 10 meters 
                         (2818,2 ha); and upper third of sub-basins (4695,8 ha), summing 
                         9.566,9 ha (45.95%). Approximately 1780.7 ha (18.61%) of APPs are 
                         protected by natural forest and 7786,2 ha (81.41%) are being 
                         affected by some type of use and occupation.",
