             abstract = "This paper presents an analysis to identify and verify the land 
                         use conflict in the permanent preservation areas on the perimeter 
                         of the Queima P{\'e} river basin, to subsidize environmental 
                         planning actions. We used high-resolution images from GeoEye to 
                         identify seven classes: rural construction, urban influence, 
                         permanent crops, temporary crops, pasture, siviculture and 
                         riparian vegetation. The natural vegetation areas was used to 
                         determine the permanent preservation areas, supported by a 
                         geographic information system. The buffers of the permanent 
                         preservation areas were automatically generated in a geographic 
                         information system considering the sources, drainage network, and 
                         artificial reservoirs and then were compared with a map of human 
                         activities and natural vegetation. From images was possible to 
                         identify the following APPs artificial reservoir in the 
                         countryside, artificial reservoir in consolidated urban area and 
                         natural lakes, springs and drainage network. The results showed 
                         that the riparian vegetation is present in 64.10% the rest is 
                         occupied anthropogenic activities. The natural forest found in the 
                         basin was designed to legal forest reserves 589.95, for the region 
                         fitoecologia semideciduous forest and wooded savanna, area was 
                         584.46%. This results in an environmental liability total 8009.81 
                         ha. Makes necessary the implementation of public policies for 
                         conservation of the basin.",
