             abstract = "The use of geotecnology mapping tools has grown considerably in 
                         recent times. This is because over time it has ever major advances 
                         in the techniques used. Thus, the need to use a good base 
                         associated with the spatial data analysis tools try to reach areas 
                         that was not previously performed many research for example: the 
                         method being presented here for classifying intermontane valleys. 
                         Therefore, this paper has the object to present a classification 
                         of valleys intramontane Mountain Bocaina using parameters 
                         extracted from digital elevation model (DEM) SRTM through 
                         measurement tools in a GIS environment. The valleys were grouped 
                         hierarchically into three (3) classes of first order, five (5) 
                         classes of second order and thirteen (13) to third order. The 
                         diagnostic rating indices, which correspond to the group which 
                         were separated hierarchically, as are: the location of the valleys 
                         on the main relief morphological structure, shape of the 
                         longitudinal profile of the channels and of the transverse profile 
                         the valleys. In the end, the information obtained in the 
                         classification will be represented in a final mapping of 
                         intermontane valleys, scale 1:250.00, and can be possible to see 
                         all the attributes of the area in relation to the standards of 
                         their hidrografias and its valleys.",
