                         the solar wind coupling parameter epsilon and the magnetospheric 
                         output parameter Ut are equivalent and that ranges of values of 
                         epsilon can be set up in terms of values of the ring current-time 
                         constant tau. These conclusions were originally suggested by 
                         Akasofu (1981, Space Sci. Rev. 28, 111).",
