Esse
{\'{\i}}ndice foi elaborado a partir do {\'{\i}}ndice de
vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation
considerada {\'u}mida, todos os {\'{\i}}ndices falharam em
estimar a umidade do solo. Isso corrobora com a literatura, que
informa que o {\'{\i}}ndice n{\~a}o {\'e} aplic{\'a}vel em
regi{\~o}es com boa umidade. ABSTRACT: The TVDI (Temperature
Vegetation Dryness Index) is a tool that aims to analyze and
estimate soil moisture, which is an important variable for the
management of water resources. This index was produced using the
effect of the vegetation index NDVI (Normalized Difference
Vegetation Index) and the surface temperature. The questioning
that propelled this research was: how the vegetation indexes SAVI,
TSAVI, MSAVI and EVI improves the results of TVDI? The evaluation
of TVDIs was made by comparing the index results with the 15 days
total precipitation, to a dry and wet day, and comparing with soil
moisture data collected in situ, for a wet day. Although the
TVDINDVI obtained the best results in general and in woodland and
grassland fields (in a dry date), the TVDI-TSAVI obtained better
accuracy in areas of exposed soil. For a wet date, all indexes
failed to estimate the soil moisture. This corroborates with the
literature, which indicates that the index is not applicable in
regions with good humidity.",
