ABSTRACT: The analysis of vegetation behavior has gained
prominence in recent years due to the growing concern with the
dynamics of global changes and the preservation of the
environment, pointing out the intense environmental degradation of
different semi-arid and arid environments. Similarly, plant
phenology is influenced by environmental characteristics, thus
being an indicator of an ecosystem's response to a set of
environmental variables. Thus, the objective of this work was to
extract and analyze the phenological metrics of amplitude, length
and rates of regrowth and senescence to investigate the
phenological behavior of the natural and anthropic vegetation
cover of the Caatinga biome. For this, EVI time series of the
MODIS sensor were used to extract the phenological metrics of the
vegetative growth period. The results obtained showed that natural
and anthropic vegetation features follow a pattern throughout the
phenological cycle inherent to climatic seasonality, in
                         particular, rainfall irregularity.",
