             abstract = "The purpose of this work is to evaluate the importance of 
                         horizontal resolution increase for the quality of the forecast. A 
                         version of the regional Eta model was configured on a reduced 
                         domain with high horizontal resolution (29 km) in a workstation. 
                         This version was integrated using as initial condition it analyzes 
                         of NCEP and boundary conditions the forecasts of the global model 
                         (CPTEC/COLA). The results of this version (for the months of 
                         January and February) were compared with the operational Eta model 
                         (40 km). The evaluation showed that the increase ofthe horizontal 
                         resolution produced improvements in the forecasts.",
