		<abstract>The CBERS-2B, launched in September 2007, has a high resolution panchromatic camera (HRC - High Resolution Camera "), with nominal spatial resolution of 2.7 m, a multispectral camera (CCD) with 20 meter nominal spatial resolution, and the Wide Field Imager (WFI), with 260 m nominal spatial resolution. This satellite has completed its activities on 05.12.2010, but their images acquired before the end are still provided without cost. An application that is still underused by the remote sensing community is the monitoring of remaining forest, which has an important role in ecological balance. However, traditional images of low and medium spatial resolution are not adequate for mapping forest fragments which occur along drainage channels and the margins. This work aims to generate a product of 10 meters spatial resolution from CCD and HRC sensors which allows the identification of forest fragments. The methodology adopted here was focused on two main themes: the pre-processing of CBERS-2B, where restoration, noise filtering, orthorectification, fusion and resampling techniques were used. On the second part an automatic classification method was used to evaluate the product for identification of remaining forest. The results show that the hybrid product performance is statistically similar to ALOS AVNIR-2 sensor, when applied for forest fragment mapping.</abstract>
