abstract = "The waters reflectance related to the pluviometrical levels allows
identifying the time between the rain and its effect on the
aquatic system. As presented, this study has the purpose of
settling a relation between the pluviometrical level and the value
alteration in the waters reflectance levels in the aquatic
environment defined by the UHE Passo Reals reservoir. Ten MODIS
(MOD09) images, from the NASA Image Catalogue, and pluviometrical
rainfall data from 47 stations of Civil Defense of the State of
Rio Grande do Sul were used. In the data analysis the accumulation
                         of pluviometrical rainfall of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 previous
days was related to the passage of the satellite, for each
selected date, with reflectance data on the red band. The
reservoir was divided in five sectors: Inga{\'{\i}} river,
Jacu{\'{\i}} Mirim river and Jacu{\'{\i}} river in half course
and low course. There was a different result caused by rain in the
water reflectance of the reservoir. On this way, it was observed
that the transition section between the river and the reservoir
showed the bigger impacts related to the rain. Therefore, in
general, the satellite images registered the rain effects during a
period of twenty days before its passage, having the best outcomes
in the samples referring to Jacu{\'{\i}} river.",
