abstract = "ABSTRACT. The objective of this paper is to assess Radar spatial
resolution degradation effect on the identification and mapping of
fluvial geomorphology features from the Amazon floodplain. 25 m
resolution Standard Mode RADARST image was degraded to 100 m
resolution using the same process applied to produce JERS images.
The main steps in the research were: legend definition; data base
                         implementation, image processing, geomorphological mapping,
quantitative assessment of resolution effect. The area of each
fluvial landform class and each lake class was computed for both
radar productis: original and degraded resolution. Results showed
that: marginal levee and lake deposition fan were more subjected
to changes related to spatial resolution degradation; there is a
non-proportional relationship between lake area and lake number in
                         the floodplain region.",
