Mesoregion of Ribeir{\~a}o Preto using the Universal Soil Loss
Equation (USLE). The study area is located in the Northeastern
region of the State of S{\~a}o Paulo and presents an area of
about 2,758,817 hectares highly exploited. The method used
climate, pedological, geomorphological data with high spatial
resolution (30 meters) and land use cover map (1:50.000) for the
calculation of the factors that are directly linked to the soil
loss by water erosion. The results showed that intense erosive
processes (beyond the limits of tolerance) characterize the study
area where about 40% of the area has estimated the rate of loss of
soil is more than 10 t/ha.year. In those areas where the soil loss
process is intense, the predominant land uses are those associated
with agricultural exploration as the cultivation of cane sugar.",
