%X This paper provides a case study of a safety-critical software development that follows the Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification, RTCA-DO-178 Revision C. In this project, the COCOMO.2000 method was applied as an estimation technique for the required software development effort. We found a Magnitude of Relative Error (MRE) of 40% and provided alternatives for future work in order to increase the effort estimation accuracy in safety critical software projects.
