             abstract = "ABSTRACT - This paper evaluates different methods for estimating 
                         rainfall over South America in Winter and Summer of 2009. The 
                         estimation methods analyzed in this study are: Hidroestimator, 
                         3B42RT, MSPPS, CMORPH, MIRS and NOGAPS. The evaluation of the 
                         algorithms was performed by comparing them with rain gauges data. 
                         The analysis showed that 3B42RT and CMORPH methodologies got 
                         better performance then the others for the studied period. Another 
                         important observation was the deficiency in estimating 
                         precipitation in the Northeastern Brazil in Winter.",
