radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o de ondas longas emergentes (ROL) sobre a
Am{\'e}rica do Sul e oceanos vizinhos. Foram utilizados dados
di{\'a}rios de ROL interpolados em pontos de grade,
per{\'{\i}}odo de 1979 a 2012, disponibilizados pelo National
Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). A metodologia
utilizada envolve an{\'a}lise espectral e filtragens por meio da
transformada de ondeletas. Neste contexto, analisaram-se os campos
m{\'e}dio do desvio padr{\~a}o de ROL nas escalas sin{\'o}tica,
submensal e intrasazonal. No primeiro caso observa-se que o desvio
padr{\~a}o de ROL {\'e} significativo (m{\'a}ximo de 33 W/m2)
no sul Brasil, associado com a passagem de sistemas frontais, e
tamb{\'e}m ao longo da Zona de Converg{\^e}ncia Intertropical.
Em geral a variabilidade observada de ROL na escala submensal
(at{\'e} 20 Watts/m2) {\'e} menor do que a da escala
sin{\'o}tica, caracterizando-se por uma ampla banda com
orienta{\c{c}}{\~a}o noroeste-sudeste afetando as regi{\~o}es
sul, sudeste e centro oeste do Brasil. Na escala intrasazonal a
variabilidade {\'e} mais acentuada (at{\'e} 14 Watts/m2) ao
longo da Zona de Converg{\^e}ncia do Atl{\^a}ntico Sul e em
parte do nordeste brasileiro; no oceano Atl{\^a}ntico Equatorial
o desvio padr{\~a}o de ROL {\'e} muito maior na escala
sin{\'o}tica (at{\'e} 27 Watts/m2), sendo seguido pelas escalas
submensal (at{\'e} 16 Watts/m2) e intrasazonal (at{\'e} 12
Watts/m2). ABSTRACT: This work deals with the spatial variability
of the outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) data over South America
and vicinities. The data basis for this study consists of daily
gridded OLR for the 1979 to 2011 period, made available by the
National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). The employed
methodology applies spectral analysis and filtering data with the
wavelet transform. In this sense, mean standard deviation (SD)
spatial fields of OLR were analyzed focusing the synoptic,
submonthy and intraseasonal time scales. In the first case,
significant OLR SD (values up to 33 W/m2) were observed over
southern Brazil along the frontal systems tracks and also along
the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone. In general the observed
variability of OLR (values up to 20 Watts/m2) in the submonthly
time scale is smaller than the observed one in the synoptic scale,
being characterized by a broad band of OLR stretching northwest to
southwestern Atlantic Ocean from midwest Brazil. A noteworthy
feature of the SD field in the intraseasonal time scale occurs
along the South Atlantic Convergence Zone (values up 14 Watts/m2)
and in portions of the northeast Brazil In the Equatorial Atlantic
Ocean the observed SD of OLR is significant in the synoptic scale
(values up to 27 Watts/m2) followed by the submontly (values up to
16 Watts/m2) and intraseasonal scales (values up to 12
Watts/m2).",
