Amaz{\^o}nia, normalmente h{\'a} alta concentra{\c{c}}{\~a}o
de part{\'{\i}}culas de aeross{\'o}is associadas {\`a}s
Assim,
a profundidade {\'o}ptica do aerossol m{\'e}dia nessas
ela chega a ultrapassar 0,9. As part{\'{\i}}culas de aerossol
agem como n{\'u}cleos de condensa{\c{c}}{\~a}o e tamb{\'e}m
aumentam o espalhamento e a absor{\c{c}}{\~a}o da
radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o incidente.
Neste
trabalho, foi utilizado o modelo qu{\'{\i}}mico-atmosf{\'e}rico
CCATT-BRAMS (Coupled Chemistry-Aerosol-Tracer Transport model to
the Brazilian developments on the Regional Atmospheric Modeling
presen{\c{c}}a dos aeross{\'o}is.
ciclo do carbono.
efeito estufa./ During the dry season in Central Brazil and South
of the Amazon, there is usually high concentration of aerosol
particles associated with intense human activities, with extensive
biomass burning. It has been observed through remote sensing, the
clouds of smoke in these areas often cover an area of about 4 to 5
million km2. Thus, the average aerosol optical depth of these
regions in 500 nm, is usually below 0.1 during the rainy season
and on the fire season it even exceeds 0.9. Aerosol particles act
as condensation nuclei and also increase scattering and absorption
of the incident radiation. Therefore, the layer of the aerosol
alters the precipitation rate; reduces the amount of solar energy
that reaches the surface, producing a cooling; and means that
there is an increase of diffuse radiation. These factors directly
and indirectly affect the CO2 fluxes at the surface. In this work,
chemical-atmospheric model CCATT-BRAMS (Coupled
Chemistry-Aerosol-Tracer Transport model to the Brazilian
developments on the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System) coupled
to the surface JULES (Joint UK Land Environment Simulator) model
was used to simulate the effects of biomass burning aerosols in
CO2 fluxes in the Amazon region. It was analyzed the total effect
of the aerosols and also the contribution related only to the
increase of the diffuse fraction caused by the presence of
aerosols. The results show that the effect of the scattered
fraction is dominant over all other effects. It was also noted
that the presence of aerosols from fires can substantially change
biophysiological processes of the carbon cycle. In some
situations, can lead to the sign change of net ecosystem exchange
(NEE), from a source of CO2 to the atmosphere, when the aerosol is
not considered in the simulations, to sink, when he shall be
considered. Thus, this work demonstrates the importance of
considering the presence of aerosol in numerical simulations of
weather and climate, once carbon dioxide is a major greenhouse
gas.",
