dTEC maps over north and south America during Saint Patrick's day

abstract = "Large-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances (LSTIDs) were
detected in the both hemispheres of the American sector during the
geomagnetic storm on 17-18 March 2015, also known as the Saint
Patrick's Day storm. Using a dense GNSS network receiver data
detrended total electronic content (dTEC) were made. It is the
first time to cover both the hemisphere by this method. The LSTIDs
showed the wavelengths of 1000 to 2000 km, the phase velocity of
200-1500 m/s and the period of 30-50 minutes. It was observed
asymmetric propagation of direction between the Northern and
Southern hemispheres, which suggests different excitation
mechanism of LSTIDs between them.",
