abstract = "Este trabalho compara o desempenho de tr{\^e}s algoritmos de
controle adaptativo autossintoniz{\'a}veis: indireto, direto

three self-tuning adaptive control algorithms: indirect, direct
applied to attitude control, in three axes, of a generic
artificial satellite in a low orbit. An ARMAX discrete
mathematical model, whose parameters are obtained online by the
Recursive Least Squares estimator, describes the orbit of the
satellite. The estimation of the attitude of the satellite is
obtained by the Three-Axis Attitude Determination (TRIAD) and
QUEST (Quaternion Estimation) algorithms, which use two
observation vectors provided by the position sensors (horizon and
solar sensors). To refine the estimated attitude is used the
Kalman extended filter, which is responsible for adding data
provided by the rate sensors (gyrometers); thus closing the
control loop. This work is based on previous work for comparison
purposes. In addition to the algorithm codes, the results are
presented and commented. The results were similar to previous
studies, opening a new spectrum of adaptive control methods to be
studied.",
