distribui{\c{c}}{\~a}o de vari{\'a}veis geomorfom{\'e}tricas
de microbacias hidrogr{\'a}ficas com vista {\`a}
caracteriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o do terreno em escala regional. Para
isso foram realizados: (1) a implementa{\c{c}}{\~a}o do
c{\'a}lculo de vari{\'a}veis geomorfom{\'e}tricas de
microbacias a partir de modelo digital de eleva{\c{c}}{\~a}o
(MDE); (2) avalia{\c{c}}{\~a}o das vari{\'a}veis
geomorfom{\'e}tricas de microbacias em multiescala; (3)
defini{\c{c}}{\~a}o de classes ou regi{\~o}es homog{\^e}neas a
partir da distribui{\c{c}}{\~a}o das vari{\'a}veis; e (4)
an{\'a}lise da rela{\c{c}}{\~a}o entre as vari{\'a}veis e
diferentes tipos de relevo e solos. A {\'a}rea de estudo
compreende o Estado de S{\~a}o Paulo. A partir do MDE
(Topodata-SRTM) com resolu{\c{c}}{\~a}o espacial de 1
arco-segundo foram delimitadas microbacias hidrogr{\'a}ficas
(n=530) de ordem 3 a 6 e definido um conjunto de vari{\'a}veis
geomorfom{\'e}tricas (n=74) para caracteriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o de
diversos aspectos de cada microbacia, tais como, forma, relevo e
estrutura da drenagem. An{\'a}lises de redund{\^a}ncia e de
caracter{\'{\i}}sticas ligadas {\`a} escala e a
distribui{\c{c}}{\~a}o espacial foram importantes para a
avalia{\c{c}}{\~a}o e sele{\c{c}}{\~a}o de um n{\'u}mero
menor de vari{\'a}veis (n=12). A krigagem dos dados foi realizada
para cria{\c{c}}{\~a}o de planos de informa{\c{c}}{\~a}o
cont{\'{\i}}nuos e as respectivas an{\'a}lises
geoestat{\'{\i}}sticas usadas tamb{\'e}m para o exame do
padr{\~a}o de variabilidade espacial de cada vari{\'a}vel
selecionada. A defini{\c{c}}{\~a}o de regi{\~o}es
geomorfometricamente homog{\^e}neas deu-se pela
aplica{\c{c}}{\~a}o do m{\'e}todo de agrupamento k-m{\'e}dias
sob cada plano de informa{\c{c}}{\~a}o. A maioria das
vari{\'a}veis geomorfom{\'e}tricas selecionadas permitiu a
defini{\c{c}}{\~a}o e caracteriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o de grandes
compartimentos (regi{\~o}es) geomorfom{\'e}tricos na {\'a}rea
de estudo. Esses compartimentos, de maneira geral, apresentaram
tamanho, localiza{\c{c}}{\~a}o e valores relacionados com as
caracter{\'{\i}}sticas das prov{\'{\i}}ncias
geomorfomol{\'o}gicas e com as principais classes de solos. A
densidade de drenagem, integral hipsom{\'e}trica, {\'{\i}}ndice
de rugosidade e comprimento m{\'e}dio dos canais mostraram-se as
vari{\'a}veis de microbacias hidrogr{\'a}ficas mais
correlacionadas a mapeamentos de relevo e de solos em escalas
regionais. ABSTRACT: The objective of this research is to analyze
the regional distribution pattern of geomorphometric variables of
small drainage basins aiming terrain characterization in a
regional (broad) scale. For this purpose were realized (1) the
implementation of the calculation of geomorphometric variables of
drainage basins using digital elevation model (DEM); (2)
multi-scale evaluation of geomorphometric variables of drainage
basin; (3) definition of homogeneous classes or regions from the
distribution of the geomorphometric variables; and (4) analysis of
the relationship between the variables and different terrain
types. The study area comprises S{\~a}o Paulo State in Brazil.
From the processing of digital elevation model (Topodata-SRTM)
with 1 arc second grid, drainage basins (n=530) from 3 to 6
Strahler order were delimited and a set of geomorphometric
variables (n = 74) was calculated to characterize several aspects
of each sub-basin, such as shape, relief and drainage structure.
The redundancy analysis and aspects related to scale-dependency
and spatial distribution were important to evaluate the variables
and for selection of a smaller number of variables (n = 12).
Ordinary kriging was used to create continuous layers and the
respective geostatistic analyses were also used for the study of
spatial variability of each selected variable. The definition of
geomorphometrically homogeneous regions was based on the
application k-means clustering on each layer. Most of the
geomorphometric variables selected allowed the definition and
characterization of large geomorphometric compartments (regions)
in the study area. These compartments, in general, presented size,
location and values related to the characteristics of the
geomorphological provinces and to the main soils types. Drainage
density, hypsometric integral, ruggedness number and mean channels
length were the geomorphometric variables from drainage with
higher correlation to the distribution and characteristics of
relief and soils in regional scale.",
