                         possiblechangesintheclimateofthearea,accordingtothedifferentemissionscenariosandinferhowthesechangeswillaffectthedynamicsofwaterinthecorncropintheregion,simulatedbyHydrusmodel.Simulationscompriseofthehistoricalperiod(19812005)andthefutureprojectionsunderRCP4.5andRCP8.5,betweentheyears2046to2070.EtamodelnestedwiththeglobalmodelCanESM2presentedhighabilitytoreproducetheclimateintheregion.Simulationsshowedchangesinprecipitationandanincreasingtrendofmaximumandminimumtem-peratureswhencomparedwiththebaseline.TherootwateruptakeshowedincreasingtrendspredominantlyintheRCP8.5scenario.TheseclimatechangescanstronglyaffectcornproductionintheregionofParana,Brazil,asitcanleadtoincreasingrunoffandrunoffextremes(runoffabove100mm/day).Thissituationposesarisktocropproductionsinceitcauseslossesbyleachinganddestructionofplants,aswellasotherfactorssuchaslackofaerationandincreasedincidenceofplantdiseases.Similarly,theprojectedincreaseintemperaturecanresultinincreasedevapotranspiration,whichaffectsrootwateruptake,andthecropwaterdemand.",
