abstract = "In this work we present a statistical study of the GNSS-TEC
variations in the Brazilian low latitudes under the influence of
the High-speed solar wind streams during the descending phase of
the solar cycle 24. The CIR/HSSsdriven geomagnetic storms are weak
to moderate, have no sudden commencement and present an extended
recovery phase for several days. The continuous negative
(southward) Bz excursions and the auroral activity during the
storms can provide the necessary conditions to the increasing of
the ionization and the development of plasma irregularities in
unusual periods. The statistical study can be useful for Space
Weather programs and ionospheric forecasting.",
