%X When describing our world as a brane embedded in a higher dimensional hypersurface (or bulk) we are led to consider the existence of some new parameters related to the extra dimension or to the brane itself, as the brane tension density parameter Ωλ. We show that gravitational waves emitted by binary neutron stars can constrain the values that Ωλ might assume. Our approach is applied to the perspectives of Einstein Telescope gravitational wave detector and results in Ωλ ≤ 0.037, which is in agreement with other estimates obtained from different methods in the literature.
