ABSTRACT: The municipality of Cunha, located in the State of São Paulo, has 1,407.25 km²as a territorial extension, being an important area of environmental conservation. The municipality has changes in its land use and occupation in 2010, which in January 2010 extreme precipitation events resulted in landslides that caused the death of 6 people. In this way, the present study aims to identify and analyze susceptible and vulnerable areas to landslides in the municipality of Cunha, and, with the use of climate projections from the regional model Eta-HadGEM-ES RCP 4.5, predict new climatic extremes and possible new vulnerable areas in the municipality, between the periods of 2022 to 2040. Through the satellite image bank made available by Google Earth, 800 points of scars occurred on 01/01/2010, the day of the aforementioned event that culminated in fatalities. Thus, through the ArcGIS® 10.8 software, thematic maps for the variables pedology, lithology, land use and cover, slope, horizontal curvature, vertical curvature and distance from the road were made. The weights for each class of variables were calculated using the scars identified in the municipality, with values ranging between 0,00 and 1,00 and the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was applied to obtain the weights of each variable. Through map algebra, a mathematical modeling was applied to obtain the susceptibility. From the result, 592 scars resulted in susceptibility considered high, 206 on average and 2 on low, with the General Average Susceptibility Index (IMGS) obtained for the 800 scars in the value of 0,62, where the index for such mass movements to occur refers to 0,70. After surveying the indexes of daily precipitation (PD), 5-day accumulated (PA5), 5-day maximum (MAXPA5) and critical precipitation coefficient (CPC), the vulnerability to landslides was calculated, where the triggering values of landslides in Cunha for the day of the effect were PD equal to 15,70 mm; PA5 of 79,30 mm; CPC of 15,00 mm and MAXPA5 of 135,82 mm. For the classes considered most critical, 213 scars were classified in the condition of very high vulnerability, 330 in high and 188 in average. Finally, according to climate projections Eta-HadGEM-ES RCP 4.5, for precipitation events, it was identified that 70 other days with extreme events may occur, causing landslides between the period 2022 to 2040. It is understood, therefore, that the results obtained are of extreme importance for the community and local public authorities, in order to assist in the creation of policies in urban planning and combating catastrophes arising from natural disasters. |
