AbstractEste estudo explora o aspecto da liderança em projetos de desenvolvimento de produtos de alto teor tecnológico e alta complexidade. O objetivo central é propor um estudo mais amplo e completo, voltado para o desenvolvimento de uma metodologia que permita correlacionar as variáveis tipicamente associadas a esse tipo de projeto e a decisão sobre o perfil de liderança mais adequado ao sucesso dos mesmos. Estas mudanças enfatizam o gerenciamento de projetos como uma forma de administração de negócios capaz de integrar esforços complexos e viabilizar a implementação de estratégias que permitam a sobrevivência da organização. Várias competências necessárias para a identificação dos gerentes de projetos foram identificadas para a definição do perfil mais adequado às características de diferentes tipos projeto. Neste contexto, o perfil do gerente de projeto, como principal responsável pelo resultado do projeto, tem importância fundamental para o sucesso das organizações. ABSTRACT: This study explores the aspect of leadership in product development projects with high technological content and high complexity. The main objective is to consider a more comprehensive and complete study, focused on the establishment of a methodology to correlate the variables typically associated to this type of projects to the decision on the best leadership profile suited to success of these projects. These changes emphasize project management as a form of business management able to integrate complex efforts and facilitate the implementation of strategies to enable the survival of the organization. Some of the multiple skills and competencies that need to be assessed as part of the selection of the most appropriate project managers for these projects were identified and discussed in this study. In this context, the profile of the project manager, as the main responsible for the outcome of the project, has a fundamental importance to the success of the organizations.

AbstractZirconia ceramics has great potential for application as thermal barrier at high temperatures. Thermal barriers on metallic substrates of aircraft turbine fans are used to increase the turbineâs temperature and thus generates a better combustion that improve their performance and reducing their consumption. So, the emission of pollutants such as CO and CO2 also decrease, which justifies the use of zirconia as a material for environmental protection. This work aims the application of zirconia with equimolar addition of yttrium and niobium oxides, as a thermal barrier. Different routes to obtain this material were analyzed. Samples were obtained with equimolar additions of 14.5, 16 and 17.5%, using planetary mill. These samples were sintered in air and in vacuum at 1500, 1550, 1600 and 1650°C. After sintering, the samples were characterized by measurement of specific mass, Vickers hardness and fracture toughness. The results showed that the samples sintered at 1600 and 1650°C in vacuum have improved hardness and fracture toughness behavior, which are important to improve the wear resistance.
