| Abstract | A elevada incidência de câncer de pele no Nordeste do Brasil, estimada em 32.000 novos casos somente em 2010, está diretamente associada aos elevados índices de radiação solar ultravioleta (IUV) observados na região. Campanhas educativas veiculadas nos meios de comunicação constituem a principal fonte de informação disponível à população sobre os riscos da exposição ao sol. Contudo, resultados de estudos realizados com base em dados do IUV em Natal RN, coletados no período de 2001 a 2008, indicam a necessidade modificação do horário recomendado para se evitar a permanência em praias. |
