AbstractThis work deals with the use of straing-gages as flow-time sensing devices for satellite control cold gas microthrusters. This technique (which looks simple and quite inexpensive compared with the conventional and sophisticated techniques under current use) consists in measuring the signal generated by the torque variation induced in the element placed downstream the (turbulent) gas flow leaving the nozzle. The rpblem is analitically discussed using the "Frequency Response Method", and the experimental results (quite promising) are shown. Resumo: Este trabalho trata do uso de strain-gages como sensores para a medida dos tempos de escoamento em micromotores (a gás frio), normalmente usados em sistemas de controle de satélites. Tal técnica, simples e barata se propõe a substituir os sistemas mais sofisticados e dispendiosos normalmente em uso, através da simples medida do sinal gerado pela variação do torque induzido no elemento colocado à jusante do escoamento (turbulento) do gás deixando a tubeira. O problema é analiticamente discutido usando-se o método de resposta em frequencia e os resultados experimentais, promissores, são apresentados.
