| Abstract | Este trabalho descreve o desenvolvimento do protótipo de um sistema de mapeamento automático da fração de cobertura de nuvens em superfície e, os primeiros resultados obtidos na comparação com dados de radiação solar medidos em superfície pela estação solarimétrica Baseline Surface Radiation. Network (BSRN). O trabalho foi realizado na região de Florianópolis (latitude 270 28'S, longitude 481 29'W). O sistema é composto por uma câmara digital marca Pixera, modelo PCS20232, operando na faixa de radiação do visível. A câmera foi montada apontando para o zênite, através de uma plataforma dotada de um sistema de sombreamento da radiação solar direta. Foi adaptada à câmara uma lente grande angular FCE8 de fabricação da Nikon com uma abertura nominal de 1 80'. O sistema forneceu imagens no formato Joint Photographic Expert Group (JPEG), com resolução de 600X600 píxeis. As imagens foram obtidas no sistema de cores RGB (Red, Green, Blue) e convertidas para o espaço atributos de cores do sistema IHS (Intensity, Hue, Saturation). O processo de decisão do sistema classificador utilizou a saturação (S) como parâmetro para a classificação de píxeis contaminados por nuvens. ABSTRACT: This work describes the, developrnent of a new method and the prototype of a system for mapping autornatically the fraction of the sky covered by clouds and the first results obtained from Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN-WMO). This work was realized in Florianópolis (27' 28'S, 048' 29'W) are also reported and discussed. A Pixera model PCS20232, digital camera operating in the visible range of the solar spectrum com- poses the system. The camera was mounted aiming at the zenith on a plafforin equipped with a shadow disc controlled by a motorized solar traelúng system. A wide angle Iens (Nikon, FCES) with a nominal opening of 1800 was adapted to the objective aperture. The system supplied images with resolution of 600X600 pixels in the JPEG fonnat (Joint Photographic Expert Group). The images were obtained in the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color system and then converted to the IHS (Inte~ Hue, Saturation) systern before processing. Ite analysis employed the: saturation (S) to infer the level contamination o pixels by clouds and thus the cloud fractions. |
