AbstractWe present results for the dynamic scaling behavior of the temperature-driven order-disorder transition between the (1 x 1) and c(2 x 2) phases of the clean W(0 0 1) surface, We study a 2D lattice dynamic model of the W(0 0 1) surface by Monte Carlo simulations. We find that the dynamic scaling ansatz is well satisfied both below and above the transition. Our estimates of the scaling functions and the associated critical exponents are in good agreement with previous studies. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
