AbstractEn este articulo se propone el diseño de una câmara de comustión supersónica de tipo doble, alimentada con aire, que usa un combustible sólido. El combustible es quemado en una câmara en condiciones de inanición de oxidante, con una pequeña fraccion d ela corriente principal del aire de alimentación desacelerada a condiciones subsônicas. Los productos de la combustión, los cuales consisten de una mezcla de gases combustibles y radicales activos, son nuevamente acelerados a condiciones sonicas e inyectados en la camara primaria, donde son mezclados con la corriente principal del ayre y quemados en condiciones supersonicas. El combustible es un poliester conteniendo pequeñas cantidades de perclorato de amonio. La camara secundaria fue proyetada como un ramjet subsonico de combustible solido y para la camara primaria se seguió un modelo classico. La principal conclusión es que es necesario efectuar una búsqueda de combustibles sólidos con altas tasas de regresión a baja presión que, al mismo tiempo mantengan propriedades mecanicas razonables. ABSTRACT: The design of air-fed supersonic combustor of dual type using a solid fuel, is proposed. The fuel is burned in a secondary combustor chamber under oxidizer-starved conditions where a small fraction ofh the main feed air stream is decelerated to subsonic conditions. The combustion products, consisting of a mixture of combustible gases and active radicals, are then accelerated back to sonic conditions and injected into the primary chamber where they are mixed with the main air stream and burned under supersonic conditions. The fuel is polyester containing a small amount of ammonium perchlorate. The secondary chamber was designed as a subsonic solid fuel ramjet and the primary chamber followed the classic model. The main conclusion is that it is necessary to investigate further solid fuels which display high regression rates under low pressure while maintaining acceptable mechanical properties.
