ABSTRACT: Paraná state contributes with 18% of national soya production. Currently it is the second national producer and plays important role in the Brazilian agrobusiness. Among the meteorological variables that play a direct influence in agricultural yield, precipitation is one of the most important. Although, there is a good annual hydrological condition in most of Paraná state, it can be observed high spatial and temporal precipitation variability. However, there is a limitation in the use of meteorological data in growth models, in a regional basis, due to the low spatial density of meteorological stations. The main objective of the study was to evaluate precipitation estimates methods, using mathematic models and satellite orbital data. Results from the following methods were tested: ETA weather forecast model, hidroestimador model (using orbital data), TRMM (using orbital data), and interpolation model. Temporal scales of 1, 3, 7 and 15 days of accumulated precipitation were used. The best performance was obtained for a 15 days scale, with the best dispersion coefficient and Willmott index, as well as low random and systematic errors. The interpolation method obtained a reasonable performance presenting low errors. . |
