AbstractA influência da Oscilação Decenal do Pacífico (ODP) sobre o ciclo anual de Temperatura da Superfície do Mar (TSM) do Pacífico tropical foi estudada usando análises de ondaletas. Análises foram feitas considerando como a fase quente da ODP os períodos de 1925-1946 e 1977-1998, e como a fase fria da ODP, os períodos de 1910-1924 e 1947-1976. Os resultados mostraram que as influências da ODP nos ciclos anuais de TSM dependem da longitude e do hemisfério. Para o hemisfério norte (HN), houve intensificações entre 140ºE e 150ºE, entre 170ºE e 170ºW, e entre 90ºW e 80ºW na fase quente da ODP; e enfraquecimentos na faixa entre 170ºE e 150ºW para a fase fria da ODP. Para o hemisfério sul (HS), os ciclos anuais de TSM apresentaram intensificações entre 110ºW e 80ºW, e entre 170ºE e 160ºW durante a fase fria da ODP. ABSTRACT: The influence of Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) in the annual cycle of the sea surface temperature (SST) of in the tropical Pacific was studied using wavelet analysis. Analyses were done considering as the warm phase of PDO the 1925-1946 and 1977-1998 periods, and as the cold phase of PDO the 1910-1924 and 1947-1976 periods. The results showed that the influences of the PDO depend on the longitude and the hemisphere. For the northern hemisphere (NH), the annual cycles of SST intensified in the bands between 140ºE and 150ºE, between 170ºE and 170ºW, and between 90ºW and 80ºW during the warm phase of the PDO; and weakened between 170ºE and 150ºW for the cold PDO phase. For the Southern Hemisphere (SH), the SST annual cycles intensified between 110ºW and 80ºW and between 170ºE and 160ºW, during the cold PDO phase.
